Our little guy is now 1

Our littlest guy is now 1. We enjoyed a celebration with family and close friends on Saturday, then just our family enjoyed his actual birthday yesterday. Luke handled the party like a champ. I got him very involved as "mommy's big helper" and he poured the chips, and the punch goodies. I think it also helped that he had friends there as well. Whacking the Elmo pinata was a blast and it took Gramps several solid wackes to actually behead him. Great pictures of that.

Since our last post we have also gone up to WV to visit my Grandparents and Uncle with his family. We had a great time with everyone and even got to enjoy some site seeing.

Josh still has 1 tooth (though I think he is working on another, due to all of the waking up in the middle of the night) he is walking as well but with help and I think/hope it will be coming soon.

Aside from getting ready for all of the Birthdays, Father's Day and Company coming we have been sitting back and enjoying our pool in the back yard. THANK GOODNESS FOR THE POOL. The past week or so we have seen temps in the mid to upper 90's and I think I'd really get house sick if I couldn't get out at all.

Anyway, next up for us is a trip to the lake and spend a 4 day weekend with all of the Colby clan. Looking forward to good times.

Hope all is well with everyone. We pray and hope that you do to for Grandpa Moten and Uncle Ryan to beat the odds of cancer, and that Jim and Devin get what they have wanted for years now. :) We think of you guys all the time.

Well wishes everyone.

So much has happened in just 1 month.

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a month since I've updated things. I'll try to make this as brief as possible.

Josh- Started rolling over on a constatant basis just after turning 9 months old then at 9 1/2 months learned to do the army crawl and about a week later started crawling on all four. One day shy of 10 months old he got his 1st tooth on his bottom left side. Now that he is crawling he is also pulling himself up on things and cruising along the couches, tables, window seals etc. etc. He loves to chase his brother now and is just EVERYWERE and is a very happy baby these days (not that he ever was a sad little guy).

Luke- Keeping busy with soccer and playing outside now that the weather is nice. He has had 3 games (2 have been rained out) He is a typical 3 year old out there. They don't have games they are all practice and of the hour that is scheduled you are lucky to have 20 min. of his attention, but when he is playing it's fun to watch.

Scott and I have been busy in the yard between putting together a nice swing set for the boys to enjoy (Mostly Luke at this age, however Josh will get his share of it I'm sure) and doing some landscapping and painting to the exterior we have already gotten a nice tan out of the deal. :)

As far as overall we had a great Easter spent with family and friends. Luke really enjoyed and made a mad dash for as many eggs that he could find and of course as soon as he realized that there was candy inside the eggs he was all over that. :) Since Easter we have had Scott's parents and Aunt Mary for a weekend visit and over the next few weeks we are busy with a trip to WV, BBQ with friends, friends from chicago visiting, and then family from Chicago visiting, and it doesn't look like June is going to be any slower. Luke will be doing his first race through the Magic house on June 12 and on the 13th is the Susan G. Komen race for the cure which we have signed up for again this year.

O.k. enough is enough, babies are sleeping and I'm thinking Luke is getting into trouble. I'll try to get some pictures updated ASAP but it won't be until next week some time.

Exciting news with Josh!

It's been about 2 weeks since our last post and lots has happend.

Josh is now 9 months old. He went in for his 9mo. check up last Thurday and is:
22 lbs 3oz (70%)
29 inches (95%)
I can't remember head cir. but it was (50%)

He is saying mama, dada and we think bro bro, though it's hard to tell at times and today I could have sworn I heard him say ball. Josh is also mobile. Hooray! He can crawl backwards, clap, wave hi, sit from a crawling position and Sunday he learned how to crawl forward! Its soooo exciting to see all that is going on with him, he is just changing sooo much. My littlest baby is growing up. :(

Luke started soccer on Saturday. Since we were expected to have temps in the upper 30's for Saturday morning and it was raining the coach had scheduled the 1st practice to be in-doors. Thank you coach Ed. :) Luke had a short attention span and it took him some time to warm up but he was kicking the ball and stopping it with his foot in no time. It took him some time to figure out that he had to stand in line behind someone else and wait his turn but by the end he was enjoying himself and gave all of us 2 thumbs up. :)

Scott and I have been busy with yard work. We are in the process of cleaning out around trees and the side of the yard. We are also working on what all is needed to set up the little playground area that hopefully we will have by the end of April.. (Come on Toysrus, please get our swing set in)! I have also started a ladies night out in our neighborhood (Thank you Deb)! There are 4 of us interested now and I'm sure that it will only grow from there. :)

Other than that not much is going on. This past weekend was fun filled despite the weather. My brother flew in late Friday night for the weekend and got to enjoy Luke's 1st soccer game then we went to the Mo. Botanical Garden for some family photos and just to get out of the house. On Sunday Scott, Rob and Luke enjoyed a nice ride down the snow (Yes, I said snow, we got about 3 or so inches and although it had started melting by the time we woke up there was still about 2+ out there). Next up is Easter. :)

Hope to talk to everyone soon.

xoxo

Just an update

It's been a couple of weeks since our last post so I thought that I would catch everyone up.

On the 5th we celebrated Scott's 38th birthday and Luke has now started to remember what is being rapped so he told Scott what two of his gifts were. It was really quite cute. Luke also helped ice and sprinkle goodies on Scott's cake which was a lot of fun. Scott took the 6th off and we took the boys to the Magic House which was a blast to see Scott see how much Luke has changed since the last time Scott and Luke there there which was when Luke was 1. This past weekend we enjoyed some relaxing time down at the Ozarks with Scott's parents. It was a great time for everyone. Luke started asking a couple of days before we were to leave if the saw was going to be there (they have a toy saw that you pull the string and it wiggles) though on the way home all you heard about was "Raise your hand if you want to be tickled". :) We were hoping that Josh would do his first crawl there like Luke did since he is sooo close but it was no luck. Oh well I've learned not to push things and just enjoy my little baby while I can. :) As many of you know my parents were going to come down from Chicago for this weekend but unfortunatlly they aren't able to, so next up is my brother flying in from VA for a weekend fun. He will be taking family photos of us and I'm sure pictures of just the boys so I can't wait to see how those turn out since he does this as a hobby but would love to make a profession out of it. :)

Josh is still just up on all 4 rocking away. He is rolling like crazy which is great but not at 4 in the morning and in his crib where he keeps getting his legs stuck in the bed rails. :( Josh ended up getting an ear infection and was extremly crabby there for a week or so but nothing that a little amoxicillin didnt cure. When he went it to have his ear rechecked they weighed him and he is now 22lbs 7oz. at just 2 weeks shy of being 9mo. old.

Luke is being very active. He starts scoccer in 2 weeks and is very excited about it. With the weather being nice all he wants to do is play outside. He is really getting to be quite the active one and just wants to run run run. He has lost 9% of his body weight and is looking great, the belly is almost gone and I'm sure will just getting going way as long as the sweets stay out of our house.

Scott and I are trucking along. We finally found a swing set that we like and of course no one has it in stock so we are just on the waiting list for them to come in and then we can still get it for the sale price. Wish us luck that it won't take to long, Luke really needs one this summer, he is to big for the baby ones now. :( On than visiters comming and us going we are keeping busy when we can at home. There's always yard work, decks to be stianed and kids to play with especially when it's 70 degrees and sunny.

Well, I guess that's about it for now. Next up is visiters and then Easter. We'll keep you posted.

Wow, almost a month has past. Where has the time gone??

O.k. so in a month..

Josh is eating nothing put table foods, and loving it. Josh has also started getting up on all four and rocking. He can move one hand but then looses balance and that's the end of that try but just the fact that he is trying is exciting for us. :) He also came down with a rash on his neck (he already has a rash on his cheeks and the back of his legs). When the rash on his neck appeared I was afraid it was a food allergy since he is on table foods but Dr. D assured me it’s just a rash called Serbia (sp) a type of eczema. He now weighs 22lbs 3 oz at 8 mo. old. Such a big boy. LOL.

Luke is now going #2 in the potty (when he has to go during the day. Knows almost all of his ABC's and is looking forward to playing soccer in just a few weeks. He has also lost about 2.6lbs since we got the news from the Dr. back in late Jan. :)

Scott is working hard, it's busy season for him so I try to make things the least amount stressful once he gets home. Good news is it's his Birthday on Thursday and Luke and I are making a cake for him then on Friday he took the day off to just get away from it all and the 4 of us are heading to the Magic House for some good fun.

I'm keeping busy. Another one of my families has lost their job.. This silly economy.. It can't turn around soon enough if you ask me! I'm now down to just the McGuire boys and my grade school kids which I get 2 mornings a week. Since it was best for Luke to loose some weight and I'm always trying to loose we have tweaked things in the house and I'm on the loosing road as well. YIPEE!! This month is a busy one with Scott's b-day, and then Poppie & Gigi's for a weekend (I hope, I really need to call now that they should be back from their get away) then a visit from my parents and then a visit from my brother.

Hope everyone is in good spirits. We look forward to hearing from everyone soon. Send a message if you have a chance we love getting e-mails and phone calls. :)

Magic House, Zoo & all that is new with Josh!

So lots has happened in just 5 days. Luke had a play date on Friday the 6th, with his friend Jack. The boys (Josh included) and I went to the magic house although it was closed when we got there we ended up going to the Whittle Station and railroad. The boys played and LOVED all of the train sets then we had lunch and went back to the M/H. We dropped Jack off at home around 4 and I think all of the boys were just pooped from all of the excitement.

The next day was Luke's 5th week of swimming lessons which he did great with, then we all headed out to the zoo since it was such a nice day (70 or so) and ended up spending the rest of the morning and early afternoon there. What a blast it is to see how Luke has changed as he is getting older. We asked him what he wanted to see before we went and it was Bears (ROARRRRR), Lions, and Giraffes... It ended up being a great day.

Josh has been a very busy boy as well; on 2/9 he said his first word. I heard it earlier that day but didn't say anything to Scott and sure enough he said it again once Scott got home... "DADA" AWWW, only fitting since Luke's first word was MAMA, Scott was very excited to hear needless to say. Josh is also getting up on all four (its official as of today) and is starting to rock. YEAH... I'm so excited. He never did really roll a bunch but he is defiantly eager to start crawling. :)

O.k., I guess that's about it for us. It's been in the 70's for about 5 days now and today is just rain, wind and high of 55. Luke's been getting spoiled by going outside. I can't wait until it stay's warm! As Luke say's "I'm ready for summer"!

Luke's 3rd Birthday party and everything after that.

Wow, two weeks since the last post and I feel like worlds have changed. We will start off with Luke's 3rd birthday party and maybe even the best yet. There were 8 little kidos there. We started the 2 hour adventure in a BIG play-yard that was about 3 or 4 stories high, and had everything you could imagine in it. There was also a smaller yet big enough little tykes play set for the littler ones. The kids had a blast but were o.k. to leave after 1 hour to head to the monkey room were Luke opened presents then had cake and ice cream. There were then a hand full of us that went back to the play ground and played again until 1, and by then we had to drag out kids out.

Next up was our first snow of the season. We ended up getting about 7'' on the ground and although it wasn't "snowman" snow it was still lots of fun to truck around and just be a kid and play in it. (Ignore the fact that it was only 13 degrees outside). Luke had so much fun playing, sledding and eating the snow. It's just so fun to see him enjoy the special parts of life now that he is getting older. Josh also got to enjoy his first snow fall by having a sled ride down our hill. I think he may have actually enjoyed it. :)

Next on our list is Luke is almost potty trained! WOHOOOO he's gone 8 days straight now of no accidents during the day and now we are working on being accident free at nap time. I don't see it taking us to long since Luke has decided he doesn't like how it feels to be wet. Wish us luck. We will keep everyone posted.

Guess that's all for now. Next up is a play date with Jack at the Magic house and then the Zoo on Saturday.

Talk to everyone soon.
